Kale Vocational School was established on October 3, 1994, and began its educational activities with the Marketing Program in the 1995–1996 academic year, the Tourism and Hotel Management Program in the 1997–1998 academic year, the Tourist Guiding Program in the 2012–2013 academic year, and the Catering Services Program in the 2017–2018 academic year. The proposal of our university to change the name of Kale Vocational School to Kale Vocational School of Tourism and Hotel Management was reviewed at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting held on August 15, 2013, and was approved in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880. In accordance with the Additional Article 181 of Law No. 7141 on Amendments to the Higher Education Law and Certain Laws and Decrees, published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2018, and numbered 30425, our vocational school was incorporated into Malatya Turgut Özal University.
